Wio Doctor ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of healthcare professionals. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose information when you use our mobile application. By using Wio Doctor, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
To provide a comprehensive clinical experience, we collect the following categories of information:
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, medical registration number, specialty, and profile photo when you register.
- Clinical Data: Patient lists, appointment records, clinical notes, and consultation summaries that you create within the app.
- Media & Files: Reports, test results, and documents you upload or share through the app.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and IP address.
- Usage Data: App features used, session duration, crash logs, and performance data.
- Communication Data: Audio and video streams during telemedicine sessions (not recorded or stored unless explicitly stated).
2. Permissions & Data Usage
Based on your device settings and app usage, we request the following permissions:
- Camera: To allow doctors to upload profile photos, scan QR codes, and conduct video consultations via the Agora RTC engine.
- Microphone (Record Audio): Essential for conducting telemedicine sessions and voice-based clinical discussions.
- Storage / Media: To upload and share patient reports, test results, and update your professional profile.
- Phone State & Network: To ensure stable connectivity during telemedicine calls and to optimize performance based on your connection (WiFi/Data).
- Bluetooth: To connect external audio devices (headsets) during patient consultations.
- Notifications: To deliver real-time alerts for new appointments, pending report reviews, and telemedicine signals.
- Internet Access: Required for all network communication, authentication, and cloud data sync.
You may revoke any permission at any time through your device settings. Revoking certain permissions may limit app functionality.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your doctor account and profile.
- Facilitate telemedicine consultations between doctors and patients.
- Send real-time appointment and notification alerts.
- Improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- Ensure security, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
- Provide customer support when you contact us.
We do not use your data for advertising purposes, and we do not sell your personal or clinical data to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
We use industry-standard providers to power our clinical tools. Each provider operates under their own privacy policy:

- Cloud Infrastructure: All patient data and clinical summaries are handled with enterprise-grade encryption at rest and in transit.
We do not integrate any advertising SDKs or analytics platforms that track users for marketing purposes.
5. Data Security & Compliance
Wio Doctor is designed for medical professionals and implements strict security measures:
- Access Control: Only authorized doctors can access patient records assigned to them.
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS.
- Encryption at Rest: Sensitive data stored on our servers is encrypted using industry-standard algorithms.
- Account Control: You may update your profile, change your password, or delete your account and associated data at any time via app settings.
- GDPR: If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to access, rectify, or erase your data.
- HIPAA Considerations: While Wio Doctor applies technical safeguards consistent with HIPAA principles, doctors and clinics are responsible for ensuring their use of the app complies with applicable healthcare privacy laws in their jurisdiction.
6. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With Service Providers: Third-party vendors (listed in Section 4) who assist in operating the app under strict data processing agreements.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred with prior notice to you.
- With Your Consent: In any other case, only with your explicit consent.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you choose to delete your account via the "Delete Account" feature in app settings, we will purge your personal identifier data from our primary databases within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law.
Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained for analytical purposes and cannot be used to identify you.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will:

- Notify you via a push notification or in-app alert.
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
